What makes your world go round?
Pondering. Pondering = answers and personal growth; 7 billion personal growths = progress.
How long have you been involved in the arts? What type?
I have been "dancing" since age six, but I really got into it as a teenager. I played the violin for six years and pick around on the guitar. I love trying new instruments and pretending to be crafty.
What do you like most about your craft(s)?
What I love about dance, and the arts in general, is the unique perspective artists seem to bring to situations. We have a special insight and a sense of closeness to people that many aren't lucky enough to find.
Famous artist/historical figure/celebrity (or a few) you love and model yourself after
I wouldn't say I intentionally model myself after him, but I do relate to Socrates. I am perpetually stuck in the four year old's, "yeah, but why?" phase. Basically, I struggle to accept things without asking lots an lots of questions. Also, my great grandmother.... She was essentially a celebrity.
Hometown
The beautiful town of Tyrone, GA. Or Atlanta for those less familiar.
What inspires you to create?
Creating dances is a way for me to physically illustrate all of the abstract thoughts in my mind. If I get stuck thinking about something, I make a dance about it. Then i can see it in action and draw my own conclusions.
Ultimate life goal
Peace of mind, fulfillment, and happiness, however that may look in any given moment
What most surprised you most about THE THREAD 2013?
That there weren't hundreds of people there!
